Re‑imagining a Time‑Crossing Mechanical Warhorse in White Porcelain

• Mechanical‑inspired structure, rich in detail The entire piece adopts a mechanical, modular design. Numerous small attachments mean slip‑casting must be carefully controlled: moisture levels and demoulding time for both the main body and each attachment must be just right to preserve the crisp contours of every gear and connecting element.
• Precise control of slip‑casting and base To reduce air bubbles, casting begins at the base, where air pockets are most likely to form. Because the base covers a broad area, the firing process must minimise cracking and warping so it can securely bear the full weight of the mechanical warhorse.
• Layered assembly through sectional joining With many small attachments, the main body is first joined to the base. A support tool is then placed beneath the belly, and each part is attached in sequence. This keeps the main structure stable while preserving the layered feel of a mechanical build.
• Technological sheen under transparent glaze A transparent glaze reveals the natural whiteness of the porcelain, allowing the mechanical structure to catch the light with a calm, refined lustre—like futuristic equipment that has travelled through time, quietly standing guard in any space.
