Porcelain Care Guide

How to Clean and Maintain Your NewChi Porcelain for Everyday Elegance

Choosing NewChi Porcelain means embracing a lifestyle of refined artistry, thoughtful design, and enduring quality.

Each piece is crafted from a precise blend of kaolin, feldspar, and quartz, and fired at 1260~ 1300°C to achieve a jade-like strength and flawless white finish, protected with a high-transparency glaze.

Though remarkably dense and nonporous, fine porcelain still deserves delicate care. With the right handling and daily maintenance, your porcelain will retain its brilliance and elegance for generations.

 Daily Care Instructions

Preserve the beauty of porcelain with gentle, intentional care

Cleaning After Use

  • Rinse and clean your porcelain immediately after use to prevent staining from tea, coffee, or food.

  • Use a soft sponge with warm water and mild dish soap to gently wipe the surface.

  • Avoid abrasive materials like steel wool or scouring pads that may damage the glaze.

  • Prevent thermal shock: never move porcelain from hot to cold water abruptly.

Storage Tips

  • When stacking porcelain, place a soft cloth or tissue between each piece to prevent scratches.

  • Store in a dry and well-ventilated area to avoid mold or odor caused by humidity.

  • Do not store porcelain with metal utensils or cookware to avoid surface friction or micro-cracks.

 Tea & Coffee Set Care

Special care for high-frequency daily use

Immediate Cleaning Matters

Porcelain tea cups and coffee cups are used frequently and should be cleaned promptly.

Never let stains sit or dry—this increases the risk of pigment settling into the glaze.

For Stubborn Stains

For tea or coffee buildup, use an eco-friendly porcelain enzyme cleaner.

These natural enzymes break down pigment without damaging the glaze—unlike harsh bleaches or acidic detergents. This ensures both deep cleaning and long-term protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I put NewChi porcelain in the dishwasher?

A: We suggest use handwash.  In gerneral, NewChi porcelain is durable enough for dishwashers, but becuase its unique shapes, we recommend using the dishwasher with gentle cycle function only, and keeping it separate from metal utensils to avoid scratches or collisions.

Q: How can I clean tea stains without damaging the glaze?

A: Soak the piece in a mix of white vinegar and warm water (1:2 ratio), or use a porcelain-safe enzyme powder. Avoid bleach or scrubbing pads.

Q: Will the clear glaze turn yellow over time?

A: No. Our high-fired transparent glaze is highly stable and resists yellowing under normal use. However, always rinse thoroughly after exposure to colored liquids and avoid prolonged UV exposure.
