Complete and luminous,
The clouds of blessing gather gently
around the fullness of harmony.
— Heinrich Wang
Bright Moon is a poetic and transformable porcelain object—a gourd-shaped vessel that opens to reveal a teacup and saucer. Seamlessly blending symbolism and function, this piece invites quiet joy, inspired by the moon’s serenity and the gourd’s fullness.
In traditional culture, the gourd (hulu) symbolizes abundance, health, and good fortune. When closed, Bright Moon appears as a pure white gourd—an object of blessings. When opened and inverted, it transforms into a teacup nestled upon its matching saucer. The cup’s handle gracefully arcs like a full moon resting on clouds, elevating the tea-drinking ritual into a moment of contemplation and light.
Gourd Form｜A Vessel of Blessings
In its closed state, Bright Moon embodies the compact, curved form of a traditional gourd—echoing symbols of protection, health, and harmony found throughout Chinese heritage.
Transformable Design｜Moon Above the Clouds
The lid flips and becomes a cup. The teacup handle mimics a glowing full moon. With a gentle motion, form and function transform—revealing elegance through movement.
Art for Use and Reflection
Whether enjoyed as a teaware set or displayed as a sculptural object, Bright Moon brings a calming energy to your space. It is a gift of rhythm, ritual, and renewal.
