Red Passion, Ever Rolling
Chasing Dreams to the Edge of the Impossible
— Heinrich Wang
Chase After Dreams is a limited edition porcelain art piece that captures the essence of courage, resilience, and the pursuit of wholeness. Bold yet balanced, it stands delicately on a fine linear base—an extraordinary feat in high-temperature ceramic craftsmanship.
The artwork is shaped as a perfect circle, symbolizing completion and harmony, while a small Chi (螭)—a hornless dragon from Chinese mythology—ascends the back of the vessel, embodying determination and rising spirit. In Chinese tradition, the Chi is a symbol of gentle power and spiritual elevation, often appearing on jade ornaments and imperial roof tiles.
The Circle|Symbol of Fulfillment & Continuity
The round form evokes the idea of life cycles, inner wholeness, and harmony. The round shape-Yuan, 園- shares the root sound with “circle” (Yuan, 圓) in Chinese, reinforcing the concept of an ever-flowing dreamscape.
The Red Chi Dragon|A Rising Spirit
Quietly climbing along the back, the red Chi dragon brings movement to the still form—a metaphor for persistent ambition and the inner fire that moves us toward our goals, even within stillness.
Bold Balance|Standing on a Fine Edge
The sculpture is engineered to stand on a minimal point and line—a remarkable challenge in kiln-fired porcelain. Each piece undergoes multi-directional casting, multi-stage firing, and glaze-joining with custom-built kiln tools to maintain balance, avoid warping, and preserve purity of form.
