Every winter, the plum tree outside Heinrich Wang's studio is the first to know spring is coming. Pure white blossoms open quietly on the still-sleeping earth — no announcement, no noise. In the season most full of color, he found himself asking a question: does the beauty of porcelain need color to speak? His answer was no. White is not absence — it is the capacity to hold everything. White porcelain receives all the colors of spring: light and shadow moving across curved surfaces, form and void breathing together, plum branches and magpies rendered without pigment, already completing a spring painting on the vessel itself.
