The Mid-Autumn Festival and Eastern Tea Culture
The Mid-Autumn Festival is more than a time of reunion—it is the perfect occasion to share tea. As Heinrich Wang notes in The Will of the Teapot, a tea gathering...
Mountain light and water reflections move in rhythm.
Balanced in harmony, seamlessly merging.
Quiet purity flows in without a sound.
Respectful as mountains, welcoming as water.
To taste the tea is to taste the vessel—complete with both mountain and stream.
— Heinrich Wang
Harmony is a quietly poetic teaware set inspired by the serene union of nature—where sky, water, and land dissolve into harmony. It captures the highest ideal of East Asian aesthetics: a world where nothing is forced, yet everything flows.
At first glance, the teapot seems to have no spout. In fact, the spout is subtly hidden along the edge, and the handle grows organically from the curve of the vessel—like a petal unfurling, or a mountain rising from mist.
Every line is gentle and flowing, as if shaped by time itself. This is a set that speaks not through bold design, but through presence, balance, and spiritual clarity.
Mountain-Water Structure|Outer form as mountain, center as still water
The teapot’s silhouette evokes encircling hills cradling a tranquil pool—a metaphor for reciprocity, respect, and host-guest harmony.
Visually Spoutless |A radical simplicity that honors equality
Without visual hierarchy, the tea flows without pointing. The act of pouring becomes a gesture of shared presence—not instruction, but invitation.
Rhythmic Contours|Movement in stillness
Undulating lines around the vessel suggest ripples on water or the rhythm of distant peaks—inviting the viewer to feel, not just see.
